Dr. Liz Wiggins, PhD, LPC, LSC
From working in a school setting to seeing clients in private practice, Liz has been counseling and supervising others since 2008.
SUPERVISION As a counselor educator, Liz brings a unique perspective to counseling supervision. She assesses the skills and dispositions that a counselor currently has, and seeks to help them grow to the next level. Liz is an empathic and inspiring mentor, who uses relational alliance to help her supervisees to feel confident, empowered and challenged. She has worked with practicum and internship students, as well as novice to experienced school and clinical mental health counselors. Liz specializes in supporting school counselors to develop comprehensive, data driven, and effective school counseling programs. She also enjoys helping school counselors obtain their Licensed Professional Counselor credentials.
CONSULATATION Liz is passionate about empowering schools and community organizations to meet the mental health needs of their groups. She uses her skills as an engaging and informative public speaker to provide staff trainings, workshops, seminars, and coaching sessions. Liz also lends her expertise in areas such as suicide prevention, crisis response, trauma-sensitive environments and preventing burnout. Additionally, she has worked with schools without school counselors to provide a mental health professional’s perspective on challenging situations.
COUNSELING Liz takes a holistic approach to counseling, incorporating mindfulness, physical activity, nutrition, aromatherapy, and nature into sessions. She believes in the grounding and cathartic power of a walk in the woods. Liz believes that all people can develop the skills they need to be successful in life. With this mindset, she focuses on helping clients identify mindset and/or behaviors that are getting in the way of living life to the fullest. Using Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution- Focused Therapy, Liz works with her clients to gain new ways of responding to troubling situations.

Ally McGuire, Counseling Intern
COUNSELING Ally uses an empathetic, caring, supportive and client-centered approach to work with individuals during difficult times. She focuses on supporting you in feeling heard, understood and empowered. Ally is comfortable working with clients with a variety of challenges, such as women's issues, sexuality/queer/LGBT+ issues, and everyday life issues. Ally graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Illinois State University, she is currently completing her Master's degree in counseling, where she is being supervised by Dr. Liz Wiggins, LPC.
